Earlier this year there was a petition going around demanding that Halle Berry be fired from the “X-Men” movies series and replaced with Lupita Nyong’o and surprisingly a lot of people were in support of the controversial demand.
Interestingly enough, Lupita may be closer to replacing her fellow Oscar-winning actress because one of the writers of the X-Men films claims they will most likely replace Halle as Storm.
In a fan Q&A session at Yahoo, X-Men: Days of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg says the franchise is done with Halle Berry, James Marsden, and Famke Janssen, none of whom were born with a genetic mutation that allows them to reverse their own aging process. “If we include some of the original X-Men like Storm or Jean [Grey] or Scott [Summers] in X-Men:Apocalypse, we would have to recast them,” Kinberg said, “because Apocalypse takes place a good 20 years before X1, which, insanely, was 15 years ago.” Hugh Jackman, meanwhile, will play Wolverine until he morphs into a sinewy mass of veins and muscles.
We can’t say we’re surprised. Halle barely got any screen time in the last film!!!
