The three suspects accused of attacking a gay couple in Center City, Philadelphia wre arraigned early Thursday and released on bail.
Kevin Harrigan, 26, Phillip Williams, 24, and Kathryn Knott, 24, were charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, according to ABC 6. Knott was released on $50,000 bail, while Harrigan and Williams each posted $75,000.
The trio was part of a larger group that allegedly confronted two gay men, ages 28 and 27, and started throwing punches. The vicious Sept. 11 attack left one of the victims with fractured bones in his face and his jaw had to be wired shut.
Williams’ attorney, Fortunato Perri Jr., denied that the case had anything to do with sexual orientation — instead, he said Wednesday, it was a “mutual confrontation” in which his client “was not the aggressor.”
Knott, the daughter of Chalfont Police Chief Karl Knott, was suspended from her job as an emergency room tech at Lansdale Hospital — and she is also being investigated for her colorful tweets about the job, where she’s worked since 2011.

Her lawyer, Louis Busico, said Knott had nothing to do with the bashing.
“She played no role in this other than going out to dinner with friends the night this happened,” he said Wednesday. “We don’t deny that there was a gentleman who was assaulted. We don't deny that this gentleman was injured. But I unequivocally deny that my client did anything to hurt this man. She wouldn’t hurt anybody !!
