ENTERTAINMENT.: A Woman Sues Disney for $250M, Claims 'Frozen' Is Based on Her Real Life Story

Isabella Tanikumi accuses the Mouse House of copyright infringements for ripping off 'characters, plots, subplots and storyline' from her autobiography.

Jersey-based author Isabella Tanikumi files a $250 million lawsuit against Disney. She claims the studio ripped off her books "Living My Truth" and "Yearning of the Heart" for "Frozen (2013)". She alleges the movie about a princess who is feuding with her sister is based on her life story.

According to the woman, the Mouse House took elements like "characters, plots, subplots and storyline" from her books. The alleged similarities include details on the village as well as the story about an older sister who accidentally hurt her younger sister and the younger losing her memory.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Tanikumi also claims that two male characters named Hans and Christoff in her book inspired the male characters in the film. The woman additionally cites "hands to the sky with sprinkles" to compare her book cover to the film's DVD cover.

The Plaintiff is seeking to get Disney to "cease and desist from any and all sales, distribution and marketing of Frozen in any media front, as well as money damages in the amount of $250,000,000.00, together with costs of suit, and such other relief as the court may deem appropriate."

In response to the lawsuit, a representative for Disney says, "This is beyond ridiculous, she needs to let it go !!
