CELEBRITY NEWS --Birthday girl Lady Gaga rocks and rolls in new Louis Vuitton wheelchair after trading in 24-carat gold ride

When it comes to a set of wheels, Lady Gaga sure has expensive taste.
The star has traded in her custom 24-carat-gold Mordekai wheelchair designed by Ken Borochov for a Louis Vuitton creation that she took for a spin through the streets of Chicago on Thursday.
Gaga’s new set of wheels features a seat covered with the French luxury house’s iconic brown and tan print.

Fans and photographers alike spotted the singer on her midday ride despite her efforts to deflect attention by wearing an understated ensemble of black jeans, a black tank top and oxfords.
She wore minimal makeup and naturally styled her auburn tresses in loose curls.
The Born This Way songstress visited the Windy City to celebrate her March 28 birthday with boyfriend Taylor Kinney.
Actor Kinney currently is on location in the city filming the NBC drama Chicago Fire.
A source confirmed to the New York Post’s Page Six that the pair kicked off the singer’s birthday celebration on Tuesday evening with an intimate meal at Italian eatery Spiaggia on the city’s famed Michigan Avenue.

Gaga has been confined to a wheelchair since February, when she suffered a labral tear in her hip that caused her to abandon the remaining U.S. dates of her Born This Way Ball tour.
She confessed on Twitter that she dealt with chronic pain for several months prior to seeking medical help, but chose to ignore its effects rather than disappoint her fans.
Despite undergoing surgery several weeks ago to remedy the injury, Gaga still depends upon a cocktail of pain medications to ease her recovery.
But don’t expect Mother Monster to be slowing down anytime soon; though unable to perform, she continues to focus on promoting her unisex fragrance, FAME, which debuted last August, and on tending to her philanthropic ventures.
Recently, Logo nominated her Born This Way Foundation, founded in 2011 by Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, as a contender for the NewNowNext award for Most Innovate Charity benefiting the LGBTQ community.
Her upcoming album, ARTPOP, will be made available in two installments beginning this spring.
The singer has been working on the project, which is inspired by 'the decay of the blonde pop icon,' since the release of Born This Way in 2011.
